The next morning: the steel lid comes off, then the silicone seal, and the overnight oats are ready to eat.

  3. Morning

Tonight, ninety seconds.

Three steps, in this order. No scales, no measuring jug, no guessing.

  1. Milk to the line

Pour milk up to the MILK line on the back of the jar. That’s 150ml, no measuring jug needed.

  2. One lid of oats

Turn the steel lid over and fill it with oats, slightly heaped. That’s 50g. Tip it in.

  3. Both lids on, into the fridge

Add any extras you like. Press on the silicone seal, screw the steel lid on over it, and into the fridge it goes.

  3. Morning

Then go to bed.

Into the fridge, and that’s your part done. The fridge does the night shift.

Eat it at home, or take it with you.

Lids off and breakfast is ready. Running late? Both lids back on, clip the spoon to the side, and into your bag it goes. When you’re done, the spoon fits inside for the journey home.

Leak-proof, or your money back.

We tested it obsessively. If it ever leaks in your bag, full refund, no questions asked.

“I can carry it in my bag without worrying about spills, which is a huge plus.”

The kit on a wooden table: an empty jar with the steel lid and clipped spoon, a jar of mango overnight oats, a spare steel lid, and a spoon.

Why we made it

“I can’t be bothered to do this every morning.”

My wife said it about breakfast. So we decided to build it properly. The leakproof sealing lid took four versions and two trips abroad to the factory, until the carrier bag became unnecessary. The lid measures the oats, the milk line went on the glass, and the scales and jug went back in the cupboard for good.

She still uses hers every morning. Now it takes ninety seconds.

Read our story

We called it OATOLOGY, because we ended up taking breakfast far more seriously than any reasonable person should.

“I really really don’t need a jar specifically designed for me to construct my favourite breakfast in.” … “I now have four”

Sam Graham,

Questions

Your questions, answered.

What is the OATOLOGY overnight oats jar?

A 450ml glass jar made for overnight oats, with the portion system built in. The steel lid measures your oats and the MILK line on the glass measures your milk. It comes with a silicone sealing lid, a stainless steel spoon and a clip-on spoon holder.

How do I make overnight oats in it?

Pour milk up to the MILK line, which is 150ml. Fill the steel lid with oats, slightly heaped, which is 50g, and tip it in. Add any extras you like, press on the silicone sealing lid, screw the steel lid on over it and leave it in the fridge overnight.

Is it leak-proof?

Yes. The silicone sealing lid sits under the steel lid and seals the jar, so it can go in your bag. If it ever leaks in your bag, you get a full refund.

Can it go in the dishwasher or the microwave?

The jar, both lids, the spoon and the holder all go in the dishwasher. It is not suitable for the microwave.

What comes in the box?

Each jar comes with a steel measuring lid, a silicone sealing lid, a stainless steel spoon and a clip-on spoon holder. Choose a pack of 1, 2 or 4 jars.
