Kitchen tip
No jar with a milk line? Measure 150ml of milk in a jug and weigh 50g of rolled oats on kitchen scales. Our overnight oats jar has both measures built in.
- Add one slightly heaped lid of rolled oats (about 50g): fill the upside-down steel lid and tip it in.
- Stir in 1 tbsp chia seeds, ½ tsp vanilla, and ½ tsp cinnamon.
- Mash two thirds of the banana in a bowl, then stir it into the jar with 1 tbsp peanut butter until combined.
Kitchen tip
Keep the last third of the banana back, in its skin. Sliced fresh in the morning, it stays bright instead of browning overnight.
- Seal the jar and put it straight in the fridge overnight.
- In the morning, slice the rest of the banana on top and add a sprinkle of chopped nuts, and a drizzle of peanut butter if you like. Too thick? Stir in a splash of milk.

What is the ratio of oats to milk for overnight oats?
50g rolled oats to 150ml milk, with 1 tbsp chia seeds. In our jar, that is milk to the line, then one slightly heaped lid of oats. Skipping the chia? Use about 130ml. Our overnight oats ratio guide covers batches and other oats.

Can you eat overnight oats warm?
Yes. Tip them into a microwave-safe bowl or a small pan, warm them gently, and loosen with a splash of milk. Never put the OATOLOGY jar in the microwave. Add the banana and nuts after warming.
How many calories are in peanut butter banana overnight oats?
Our estimate is about 490 kcal a jar, made as written with semi-skimmed milk, sliced banana included, before the nuts and any extra peanut butter on top. Your choice of milk and toppings moves it up or down.
